Most life events link appropriately in our memory. However, some events get stuck and then become triggering in present day. They may become stuck due to fight, flight, freeze or fawn response or because of other past events. EMDR helps the stuck memories become integrated.

We discuss your history and practice and build your coping skills to manage distress. We build a treatment plan based on past events and techniques are available to help recall memories. We reprocess these memories so the emotional charge disappears. We imagine and plan for the future you desire and prepare for any blocks.

In EMDR, there are 8 total phases. We will work together to allow your body to create the healing it’s designed to do. We’ll use eye movements or tapping, known as bilateral stimulation, to promote your healing. You choose how much detail you share about the events. I have been trained in a model that incorporates somatics (body based) and attachment theory.
